Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs smoked turkey necks
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp thyme dried or fresh
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary dried or fresh
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 2 carrots sliced
  • 3 cups chicken broth or beer
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce optional

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the smoked turkey necks under cold water and pat them dry.
  • Trim any excess fat using kitchen shears.
  • In a bowl, mix paprika, black pepper, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Rub the seasoning mix onto the turkey necks for maximum flavor.
  • (Optional) Sear the turkey necks in a skillet with olive oil for 2-3 minutes per side to enhance flavor.
  • Place the turkey necks in the slow cooker in a single layer.
  • Add chopped onions, minced garlic, celery, and carrots on top.
  • Pour in the chicken broth (or beer) and apple cider vinegar.
  • Add bay leaves and a drizzle of soy sauce (optional) for extra depth.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.
  • Check doneness by ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the bones twist easily.
