Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lb pork shoulder blade steak
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Fresh herbs optional

Instructions
 

  • Mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture generously on both sides of the pork shoulder blade steak.
  • Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Once hot, sear the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms.
  • Add soy sauce and apple cider vinegar to the skillet for extra flavor.
  • Transfer the steak to an oven-safe dish and cover with foil.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read 145°F (63°C) at the thickest part.
